Technical Specifications
Measurement Basis: Velocity is the primary measurement for machinery vibration on external cases. LPS Series transducers are available measuring in terms of velocity or acceleration.
Output Signal: 4-20 mA loop powered. Available output calibrations include Peak, RMS, or True Peak for broadband transducers. Frequency banded transducers offer Peak or RMS calibration.
Full Scale Selection: Full scale is user-selectable and not adjustable. Guidelines suggest the normal vibration level should fall within 10-20% of the full-scale range, and manufacturer-specified limits or ISO 10816 should be used to determine the appropriate range.
ISO 10816 Guidance: Part 3 of ISO 10816 is used for evaluating industrial machines (nominal power > 15 kW, speeds 120-15,000 RPM). Machines are classified into groups (1, 2, 3, 4) and evaluated based on rotor mode (rigid or flexible).

- Group 3: Pumps with multivane impeller and separate driver (> 15 kW).
- Group 4: Pumps with multivane impeller and integrated driver (> 15 kW).
Evaluation Zones (ISO 10816-3):
- Zone A: Normal for newly commissioned machines.
- Zone B: Acceptable for unrestricted long-term operation.
- Zone C: Unsatisfactory for long-term continuous operation; limited operation possible.
- Zone D: Potentially damaging severity.

Frequency Banded Transducers:
- Low Frequency (e.g., PC420VP-10-B3041): Filters focus output to 3 Hz (180 RPM) to 40 Hz (2400 RPM) for trending balance and alignment issues.
- High Frequency (e.g., PC420AR-10-3223): Filters focus output to 300 Hz (18,000 RPM) to 2,000 Hz (120,000 RPM) for trending pump cavitation.
Dual Output Transducers: Provide both a 4-20 mA loop signal and a broadband dynamic signal (100 mV/g acceleration or 100 mV/ips velocity) for use with portable spectrum analyzers.
