Product Overview
The SGX Bromine Sensor SGX-BR2-5 utilizes a revolutionary innovation in electrochemical sensing technology to accurately detect and measure bromine gas concentrations. It operates by detecting output signals from electrochemical reactions at three catalytic electrodes, a liquid electrolyte, and gas diffusion holes. Gas enters through diffusion holes to the working electrode where a reaction occurs at the 3-phase boundary, generating a current signal linearly proportional to gas concentration. This sensor is designed for applications requiring high sensitivity, accuracy, and reliability in gas measurement equipment, environmental air monitoring, leak detection, emissions monitoring, TLV-monitoring, and in portable and fixed-point applications within the water treatment, chemical industry, and swimming pool sectors.

Important Notes
- All performance is based on conditions at 20C, 50% RH and 1 atm, flow rate>150qcm/min, using SGX recommended circuitry.
- Sensor performance is temperature dependant; please contact SGX for temperature performance other than 20C.
- Do not solder to the connector pins as this may damage the sensor and thereby invalidate the warranty.
- Details on recommended connector pins can be found in the Frequently Asked Questions within the Gas Sensor section of the SGX website.
- Exposure to high concentrations of solvent vapours should be avoided during storage, fitting into instruments, and operation.
- When using sensors on printed circuit boards (PCBs), degreasing agents should be used prior to the sensor being fitted.
- For life safety performance requirements, it is recommended that all sensors and instruments using these sensors are checked for response to gas before use.
