Product Overview
The ATS616 is a peak-detecting gear tooth sensor IC featuring automatic gain control and an integrated capacitor for highly accurate gear edge detection, even at low operating speeds. It utilizes Hall-effect technology with a dual-element Hall IC that responds to differential magnetic signals. The device incorporates sophisticated processing circuitry with an A-to-D converter for self-calibration, minimizing air gap variations. Its patented peak-detecting filter circuit effectively eliminates magnet and system offsets and can discriminate fast changes caused by tilt, gear wobble, and eccentricities. This easy-to-integrate solution offers first-tooth detection and stable operation down to extremely low RPM. The ATS616 can replace the ATS612LSB, eliminating the need for an external peak-holding capacitor.
