Product Overview

The Allegro MicroSystems ALS31313 is an automotive-grade, 3D linear Hall-effect sensor IC designed for precise magnetic field measurement along X, Y, and Z axes. It provides a 12-bit digital output proportional to the magnetic field, making it ideal for applications such as head-on linear motion, slide-by position sensing, and rotation angle measurements. The device is also offered in a joystick mode with a low-gain Z-axis option, enabling the use of back-bias magnets for return-to-zero force, eliminating the need for traditional spring-based solutions. With advanced low-power management, including a typical 14 nA sleep current, the ALS31313 is well-suited for portable, battery-operated devices. Its flexible I2C interface allows for easy system integration with 16 unique addresses selectable via external resistors or 127 addresses programmable via EEPROM.
