The Allegro MicroSystems ALS31313 is an automotive-grade, 3-D linear Hall-effect sensor IC designed for versatile sensing applications. It provides a 12-bit digital output proportional to magnetic fields along the X, Y, and Z axes. Ideal for head-on linear motion, slide-by position sensing, and rotation angle measurements, it also features a joystick mode with a low-gain Z-axis option for back-bias magnet integration, eliminating the need for traditional spring solutions. Its advanced low-power management, including a 14 nA (typical) sleep mode current, makes it highly suitable for portable, battery-operated devices. The sensor offers selectable sensitivity ranges (500 G, 1000 G, 2000 G) and flexible I2C addressing, allowing multiple devices on a single bus. With 78 bits of user EEPROM and a configurable power management system, the ALS31313 enables system-level optimization for current and performance.
