The Allegro ACS724 current sensor IC is an economical and precise solution for AC or DC current sensing in industrial, automotive, commercial, and communications systems. Its small package is ideal for space-constrained applications, offering cost savings through reduced board area. The device features a precise, low-offset, linear Hall sensor circuit with a copper conduction path for sensing current, which generates a magnetic field converted into a proportional voltage. Differential sensing rejects common-mode fields for improved accuracy in noisy environments. The ACS724 is AEC-Q100 qualified and provides a high-bandwidth 120 kHz analog output for fast response times. Typical applications include motor control, load detection and management, switched-mode power supplies, and overcurrent fault protection.
