The Allegro ACS725KMA is a high-accuracy, Hall-effect-based current sensor IC designed for AC or DC current sensing in industrial, commercial, and communication systems. Its compact SOIC16 package is ideal for space-constrained applications, offering cost savings through reduced board area. Key applications include motor control, load detection and management, switched-mode power supplies, and overcurrent fault protection. The device features differential Hall sensing for common-mode field rejection, patented digital temperature compensation for accuracy over temperature, and inherent isolation, eliminating the need for costly isolation techniques. It provides a low-offset, linear voltage output proportional to the sensed current, with a typical primary conductor resistance of 0.85 m for low power loss.
