Product Overview
The Allegro ACS71240 is an economical and precise automotive-grade current sensor IC designed for AC or DC current sensing in industrial, automotive, commercial, and communications applications. It features a low-offset linear Hall sensor with a near-surface copper conduction path, generating a voltage proportional to the applied current. The device offers high accuracy due to differential sensing that rejects common-mode magnetic fields and an integrated shield that suppresses output noise from high dv/dt transients. Key benefits include low power loss from its low primary conductor resistance, ultrafast response time for short-circuit detection, and an integrated fault comparator for overcurrent detection. Available in small, low-profile QFN-12 and SOIC-8 surface-mount packages, it is fully calibrated and AEC-Q100 automotive qualified.
