Product Overview

The Allegro ACS72981 family of current sensor ICs offers economical and precise solutions for AC or DC current sensing. Featuring a 250 kHz bandwidth and a <2 s response time, these sensors are ideal for applications such as motor control, load detection and management, power supply and DC-to-DC converter control, and inverter control. They are particularly well-suited for safety-critical applications requiring overcurrent fault detection. The devices utilize a precision, low-offset linear Hall circuit with an integrated copper conduction path, generating an analog output voltage (VOUT) that is linearly proportional to the primary sampled current (IP). Proprietary digital temperature compensation ensures accuracy over temperature and lifetime, while differential sensing techniques minimize output disturbance from common-mode magnetic fields.
