Product Overview

The Allegro ACS70331 is a highly sensitive, 1 MHz GMR-based current sensor IC designed for <5 A current sensing applications. It leverages Giant Magneto-Resistive (GMR) technology, offering 25 times greater sensitivity than traditional Hall-effect sensors for precise magnetic field detection generated by current flow through its integrated low-resistance primary conductor. The device provides a low-noise, high-speed analog output proportional to the current, with a typical response time of 535 ns. It is available in four factory-programmed sensitivity and offset levels to optimize performance across various current measurement ranges. The differential GMR element configuration ensures significant rejection of stray magnetic fields, enabling stable operation in noisy environments. The ACS70331 operates from a single 3.3 V supply and is qualified for the commercial temperature range of 40C to 85C. It is offered in space-saving, low-profile QFN-12 and SOIC-8 surface-mount packages.

Note: The ACS70331 is classified as NOT FOR NEW DESIGN and is restricted to existing customer applications due to probable obsolescence in the near future. Samples are no longer available.
