The Allegro ACS71240 is an economical and precise automotive-grade current sensor IC designed for AC or DC current sensing in industrial, automotive, commercial, and communications applications. It features a low-offset linear Hall sensor with a near-surface copper conduction path, generating a voltage proportional to the applied current. The device offers high accuracy due to differential sensing that rejects common-mode magnetic fields and an integrated shield that suppresses output noise from high dv/dt transients. With an ultrafast response time and an integrated fault comparator for overcurrent detection, it provides robust protection against short-circuit events. Available in small, low-profile QFN-12 and SOIC-8 surface-mount packages, the ACS71240 is fully calibrated at the factory and compatible with lead-free assembly processes.
