Product Overview
The Allegro ACS72981 family of current sensor ICs offers economical and precise solutions for AC or DC current sensing. With a 250 kHz bandwidth, these sensors are ideal for motor control, load detection and management, power supply and DC-to-DC converter control, and inverter control applications. Their <2 s response time enables overcurrent fault detection in safety-critical systems. The device utilizes a precision, low-offset linear Hall circuit with a low-resistance (200 typical) copper conduction path, minimizing power loss and enhancing power density. Proprietary digital temperature compensation ensures accuracy over temperature and lifetime, while differential sensing techniques eliminate output disturbance from common-mode magnetic fields.
